*Editor Note* - It has been a while since I have updated this blog and I had a whole post for this that I guess I didn't publish.*
We just found our roll of film from Paris, so it was time to update the blog, so we could treasure the memories and photos!! In August we went to see our eldest daughter Meg and our Grandchild Ivy! Here are some of our photos from the trip.
It was an early morning for us, we were up at 1am and on our way to the airport for a 4am flight! The kids were all groggy that morning but the excitement seemed to have set in once they saw the airplanes! They were even excited that they were about to fly into the future aka such a big time change!

We boarded the plane but there was some equipment issues so we had to change planes. Luckily, this new plane came with a server who handed out some champagne and cheese!
We finally arrived at her hometown just before the sun set and she had a rental car all ready for us! Gattz had a little of a rough go at the wheel since he is used to super sport cards but we lived! It was such a beautiful ride in and Aiyden made sure to look good for all the Parisian girls!!!
After being greeted by our daughter and granddaughter, we had a tour of this beautiful manor. Seeing my daughter be independent and take care of this house and her family made me so proud.
The night fell and the kids were wiped out, they slept in Ivy's room and Gattz and I had sleeping bags in the living room. It was such a great night!

Day 2 in Paris
I woke up at the crack of dawn today, not to a rooster but Gattz alarm - I should have broke that thing! We are on vacation! He wanted to get an early start on Megs wine rack for her basement. While he did that, I Andre the butler, challenged me to a Scrabble game, of course I won - mainly because he didn't know many English words! Kudos for my "Twixkzat" for a bingo and 120 points! He asked me what that meant and I just looked at him with a shocked face and replied "You don't know what that is, Oh that's right your not from the states -it means to have a craving for Twix *nods*" Okay well I lied but in my defense, I didn't know any of the words he was playing :D!
I decided to something special for my daughter and granddaughter. I found a recipe for these scrumptious tarts! I asked Outlette (Megs Maid) this morning to help me out a bit and go pick some fresh berries. She went to gather them as I prepared the dough.
When she returned, she was giving me advice and I am sure she insulted me a couple times. I told her she needed to relax a bit...So I did what any typical New Yorker would have done, put whipped cream on her head Duh!

I had some time while Oulette cleaned up after me (YAY!!! A NEW THING FOR THIS MOM!)) So I made a new friend - I named her Puffykins! I also had time for a quick tour of the house, I loved everything, especially Ivy's room!!
Soon after, Meg came home and took our family out to dinner! My mother had flown in earlier to bring Dash with her. We had a lovely dinner at this local cafe and were able to take a family generation photo with all the girls!

This was such a wonderful treasure for us to have. <3
Day 3 - Paris Adventures!
This morning was amazing, sipping tea with my daughter Meg before our adventures were going to start. She told me about the day she had planned for us and I was so excited to let the family know. She said Harry Potter was playing at the town cinema and we just could not wait!!!
After a short ride and several costume changes later, we arrived for the showing!!
Harry Potter was such a hit that so many of the towns people showed up, the concession stand actually ran out of food! So the theater closed down temporarily but Natalee's creepy boyfriend who works there, snuck us in for a private showing!
We had a wonderful time in Paris but we had to cut our trip short due to our new house becoming available at a new location!!

Unfortunately the next day, we stopped when the community came to a halt with the passing of a loved one. We lost one of our staff members, a close friend and family to our own.

Hold Onto The Memories:
Memories fade, but they're never lost
Colors change with time and change of heart
If I hold onto the memories and use them to guide me
Will you be right here beside me
Everything I know is behind me
I'm starting a new life
I just don't want to say goodbye
The sun has set on everything we know
Friends we've made, I don't want to let go
After everything that we have learned
It's our time now, it's our turn
If I hold onto the memories and use them to guide me
Will you be right here beside me
Everything I know is behind me
I'm starting a new life
I just don't want to say goodbye
The lights go dim as we suddenly see
It's time to find who we're meant to be
We couldn't wait for this to end
Now we wish we could start again
If I hold onto the memories and use them to guide me
Will you be right here beside me
Everything I know is behind me
I'm starting a new life
I just don't want to say goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye
