Happy Birthday my Special!
Love Mom & Daddy
Today was our daughter Mckenzie's 4th Birthday party! She chose to have a Brave theme and selected a small group of family & friends to play the members of the movie! As she arrived in the butterfly circle, everyone was gathered around to scream and throw confetti on her! A true princess entrance! Of course the event started with our princess dancing with her father. Our Godbaby Chelsea and her brother Troy, dressed up as the brother bears from the movie!! They looks adorable!! After some dancing, we led them to our castle training ground where we each of the kids were enrolled in Jr B**r Hunter School (We don't use the word bear because it puts the villagers on edge and makes the huntsmen take out their bow and arrows, we of course wouldn't want that during the games!). The bears they had to shoot at, each had a crime that they were guilty for and were assigned to each jr hunter! The kids learned how to use a bow and arrow correctly and off they went! After the kids finished up that event, we led them to the other side of the forest. There the kids were trained how to roll logs! They had to roll the logs back to the castle to keep it warm. They did so great!! After all that work, our little junior trainees were super hungry for CAKE! The cake I baked myself :) Meant to resemble a stump with a target on it and if I could say so myself, it was tasty! Gift Time - Everyone was so generous! Momma, Me, My Dad and Gattz My Son Peyton, Kenzie, Gattz and I Kenzie, Maelie and Ivy We had such a great time! The party felt so quick, we packed up the car and headed home and the moment we headed home, Kenzie started to unpack and play with her gifts! I even got the girls to test out the custom pose I made for the goodie bags! Disclaimer: Maelie was not hurt :) Thank you everyone who attended!! We had such a great day!

Today is our children's fourth birthday (3 years since we birth them!) and oh my the time is going so fast. I could remember the day we decided we would birth our children. It was something we thought a lot about before committing to it. We questioned ourselves if we would be the best parents for them, how we would raise them in second life, would we feel any different and so on. It was then we felt like real parents, worrying about all the what if's. Now looking back, we know we made the right decision - no matter how scary it was. It has been a long road together and we have been through so much, I love where we are. It may not be perfect everyday but our love for them is. I included some special photos from the kids photo album to share on our blog. We were able to spend some time together today taking some photos, which we treasure. Kenzie loved it mainly because she got to eat so many pieces of cake! Just a quick piece of cake with the neighbors. (Left to Right) Peacey, Jessica, Momma, Kenzie, Me, Gattz, Kara, Corbin & Maelie Happy birthday our little ones, we love you so very much! Love Mom & Dad Gilman Twins Video Dedication from 2 years ago: https://vimeo.com/27965999 "Your hand fits in mine After a super long road trip back home from camping, we finally arrived at our new home! We were both in awe as we pulled up to our new home and excited to get in and unpack! The plumber and electrician had already been in and out and we surely wanted to at least get the bedrooms setup so once the kids arrived, they would get right to feeling at home! Here is a photo of our new home!! Now to jump on our new bed and unpack everything! -Mom Gilman "It feels like home to me, it feels like home to me Saying goodbyes to Cherry Hill State Park is really sad. The kids had left the night before since they all had a sleepover they wanted to attend (rl). Gattz and I stayed until the last day when it closed and it was already really quiet without everyone there to finish the week out. I started to pack the night before that way we wouldn't be in a rush the day of. Gattz took one of the cars to the new home and came back on his motorcycle, which thankfully fit in the RV for the way home! So while I had some alone time, I took the opportunity to fish again, hoping to catch my 10th trout but no luck, I think they were all packed up and moved out too. The foggy morning there only added to the sadness and I figured if I packed up we wouldn't have to linger anymore in the goodbyes. Just rip the band-aid off and head home. The fog eventually lifted and Gattz got back just in time to help pack up the rest of the kids items. He really helped by watching me but I don't blame him, he was really depressed and tired from his drive! So I did the womanly thing and gave him a beer and permission to sit and watch me do all the hard work. ...and off we went - to a new adventure and moving to a new community and a whole new city (different sim) for the first time in a very long time. This time would be a big change for everyone involved, our son Collin has gotten old enough to be out of the house and about, staying at his friends houses and Corbin and our granddaughter Maelie moved to a whole different city. So its the first time Kenzie will experience her best friend moving away but we have some great beginnings to look forward to. Off to Little Wonders! "Time falls away but these small hours Written by Mckenzie Gilman This mornings i woke ups up afore anyones and snucks out to lights the fire shhh dont tells momma but It only tooks three tries before it lit bigs. After the fire was lit and ready for breakfast to starts I wanted to catch some lightin bugs and I saw a deer, that finally lets me get close to it after trying all weeks Right when I gots back momma woke up and we snuggled a lil bits, and then we went huntin for mores of them blue flowers, and we rode our bikes all ova camp. Thens it was time for family wars it was so funs and so hard, we hadda unscramble words for places at camp, and then get everyones there for a picture, and soma it was forever to figure out , daddy, dash mae ivy momma n me we all playeds and we WON first place .. I think momma sayed we gotted a trophy! After Family wars, ivy, maelie, dash,, an me took a afternoon drive around camp, maelie drove but after alot of rocks, and trees, and campfires and I thinks Molly gotted way scared we, finally made it backs to our, campground and maelie had the best parking job ever. Cept I kinna feel bad for the picnic table After thats I thinked if i bugged mommy enoughs we could go down to towns for a little while and enjoy da ice cream festival so we went there n gots bloons and lotsa ice creams . when we gots back to our campground it was raining hard at camp so we all snuggled up in the bed and waited until trivia started and then we all piled up with umbrellas an played trivia for a while. Everyone is sooo smarts mommy, maelie, dash and ivy answered lotsa dems and there was lotsa silly answers -Mckenzie Gilman *Smiles as her specials day* I need to stuff all these moments into a jar so she could never grow up!! -Mom Gilman "I can remember when you fit in the palm of my hand Today we woke up late and as I did my normal morning walk, I noticed on the ranger station that there was help needed! It seems the Park Ranger wanted to know the location from all of the Blue Mambo Pansy's at the campsite! So I let everyone sleep in and took Maelie to start looking for these special flowers. We didn't pull them, just smelled them ((each flower touched, gave us 2 points to buy more items with and also helped the ranger station locate them!)) and wrote down each location. We returned back to the campsite with a long list of locations for the ranger to find these flowers at. Its good that we got back when we did because we were a little bit behind on cooking for the camp-wide pot luck dinner tonight! We looked in the cooler and realized we had some corn to be cooked, a salad and some cookies!! I know the kids love when we boil the corn back at home, so I decided to try it out this way here and I think it turned out super sweet! Maelie poured the water into a huge bucket where we had added some chemicals to clean the water and then some into the pot. She even helped put all of the corns in, one at a time and decided it would be funny to give grandma a shower by THROWING them in, making it splash all over me! As I struggled to put the grill on high, placed the pot right on it and manage not to get burnt all while my tough son relaxed! He is such a MAN, just like his father! At 5pm, we headed down to the Pot-Luck Dinner, which was set up beautifully! Each family had their own dinner table, quite like home! We all lined up and took a plate and then piled it on! We were all so hungry, its been days since we have had that good food in our bellies, I especially loved the corn, it came out sweet and loved the fried chicken. I was highly impressed that the Justin, Mia and his family were able to pull that off while camping!! After dinner, the kids and I spent some time at the beach. It was the first time we went down there since we have been here. The water was a bit chilly but thank goodness the water was shallow, they were able to actually play a bit and watch the sun set. The wind picked up at the beach, so we headed back to the campfire. We were given a marshmallow set so all of the kids ate up the whole entire bag! I am surprised especially after the big dinner and ice cream feast! The kids even got to see fireworks which I missed due to taking a shower! Maelie and I warmed our hands by the fire as Kenzie got into her pajamas. We followed her into bed and one of the best parts of the night was snuggling and our son Avenge who was lost in the woods for days ((rl got the best of him)) came back, with some great stories for us! So we are all ready for bed, going to close the laptop so I could just enjoy these snuggles. The song for today's blog goes out to all of those who along with me, wish you could feel the love of someones hug, kisses and snuggles in RL. -Mom Gilman "When the evening shadows This is no trick! We celebrated Halloween today at camp! It was a day full of lots of sugar, some scary monsters and lots of spooky fun! Our family decided to decorate our campsite as the "scary" new move "Sharknado" and all of the kids went as sharks or sharks in training! We ended up having a big party at our campsite and the kids were able to go trick-or-treating at the other campsites! Then later on, the park rangers showed two Halloween movies today too but we ended up missing it because we were down by the river fishing again! It was a lot of fun!! A couple hours later, we cleaned our campsite for our last and special arrival, our daughter Meg and our granddaughter Ivy and Joey! As soon as they arrived, we gave them a huge bottle of bug spray and took them straight to the ranger station to get all setup! We grabbed our equipment and the first thing they wanted to do was head down to the lake to fish! We rented a boat today and Gattz and I went out on the river to see if we would catch more fish at a different location. It actually worked, we both caught a ton of fish and even found some butterfly nets that were thrown in the river from all those missed attempts of catching fish with them! I caught about three more trout and I am five away from winning that very special prize here at camp! Can't wait! We packed the boat back up shortly after and had someone take a family photo with their phone so we could remember this moment! From left to right: Gattz, Jill, Ivy, Meg, Corbin, Kara and the shorties on the stump, Joey and Mckenzie Below: Corbin & Kara After a long walk back to our campsite, we were able to just light the fire and turn in for the night. Well that is until Joey realized he left his dragon down by the river. Good thing Gattz has a good sense of direction, he knew just where it was and 50 bug bites later, they returned to camp. Gattz and I had a nice cup of hot chocolate that we purchased with our points from the store. I just love the mugs and know I will have a special place at home for it so when we see it we will remember all of these times we have had. I cannot believe the week is almost over already. Here is a photo I took earlier on our hike back, I loved it - it was such a peaceful moment as the sunset. Goodnight all from Cherry Hill State Park! - Mom Gilman "The dawn is breaking *Waves hello from my hiding spot at camp*! The humidity and bugs were really bad today at camp but thank goodness the Park Ranger went out and brought back a case of bug spray! It was needed for sure! Now only if I could get out of my hiding spot without being tagged by Justin! He has been "it" for quite a while now, not sure why but maybe his blonde spiky hair is giving it away *snickers*. I will write more once we are back in the RV, my phone keeps roaming! Fast forward 2 minutes, HE caught me! So I am it and have to wait three minutes to find that little bugger and get him back! So, our day so far has been pretty calming, Kenzie & Gattz slept in this morning but I dragged Dash out of bed to do RV "duties"...it was an experience that she hopes never to remember. After that was over, we headed down to play hide and see....Got Him!! The game of Hide and Seek is finally over and Kenzie woke up refreshed for a new day at camp. We decided we would invite everyone over for a mid-day smores-fest! Gattz and I taught the girls how to make the perfect s'mores and they seemed to get it, "Roast the marshmallow, give Mommy the chocolate to eat and put the marshmallow in between the graham crackers" Perfect! Well as I mentioned yesterday, we went into closing on our new house very soon and while that is exciting, it brings on some new changes to our family. We will be living away from our son Corbin and our granddaughter Maelie for the first time and while we are really sad about it, we know that our kids happiness has to be number one even when we want to be selfish and pop their car tires so they cant go! *smiles innocently* So with that, Corbin & Kara left our campgrounds yesterday to go home, pick up their kids and finish his paperwork on his new land. So today they came back with my grandbaby Maelie and godgrandbaby Giselle! We had been so excited that they were joining us that I actually dropped my s'more in the fire when I jumped up! They even brought us some new food from home which is good because the kids are NOT wanting to have any part of eating the fish! Smile!!! Here we are, Kara, Corbin, Gattz and I and the little ones Kenzie, Dash and Maelie! Giselle had already gone to bed for the night, it was a long ride for them-so I don't blame her! Plus, the bugs have been biting so badly, we were trying anything to get rid of them! Thankfully, the park ranger station had one more left for me but that wasn't the only thing...they had a bill for a flat tire! *Whistles* I guess they saw the sticker that said "Gattz wheels", which for the record I told my husband not to write on his bike a long time ago, since he is an adult!! After I paid all of my fines off, we headed down to the lake for another day of fishing. That's part of the good life here, sit around and talk to everyone, catch butterflies, shop, eat, sleep and fish! There is plenty to do here but those are my favorite so far! Tomorrow my daughter Meg and granddaughter Ivy is coming in!! They were supposed to be here today but they had a delayed flight so we were really disappointed but at least we saved bird and animal watching for them! We had two big catches today though, Kenzie and Dash caught their first keeper fish!! Kara just caught my son which if I could say so myself, is a pretty good one! Even if he does eat 5 slices of pizza! I am handing the laptop over to Gattz now since he wants to "write". I think he just wants to play minecraft but who am I to stop him! *After a 4 hours Minecraft marathon* Oh yes, the blog. Excited for our new house but loving this much needed vacation. I used to camp all the time as a kid. Ahh the days of eating worms....they seem to have started again as an adult *eyes Jill that pressured him into eating the worm*. (Jill's edit: Corbin did it, not me!) The things we do for love. Unfortunately being the city planner for Little Wonders Community I don't get too many days off, so I took by bike and rode all the way back to Little Wonders. The construction workers were trying to build the road straight into the park! Took me an hour to explain to them that the road goes ~around~ the park. My legs were sore from biking to Little Wonders that I decided to take my motorcycle and rode that back to the campsite. I was so happy to be back here. Shame we'll have to leave eventually. Loving this time as a family. Oh, I think Jill is giving me the "Oh you did not just play Minecraft for 4 hours when you should have been blogging look" look. Time to give her the laptop back! *Also I would like to say now that "I" is i and "J" is j - silly font!* "If you get lost, you can always be found... The Gilmans are on vacation...again! We were just in Paris visiting our eldest daughter Meg and our granddaughter Ivy but we had to head home unexpectedly due to our new house going into closing much sooner than we thought! While we were at camp, we had received a special invitation to go camping at 'Cherry Hill State Park' the week of the 12th. So while we are waiting to purchase a new flight back to finish our special trip in Paris, we detoured to the camping grounds. It has really worked out since we don't have a place to live at the moment. So off to Cherry Hill we went! We all met at my God baby Kara's home and just in time for the rental RV to show up! Before we left, I had to lay down the rules with the kids! They weren't too happy with them but I think the excitement of the RV arriving made them accept ALL of the rules, even the one I whispered under my breath about taking two showers this week! Mom-1 Kids-0! The ride was long and bumpy but the kids seemed to be having a good time in the back playing their video games and eating all of the cookies before we got there! Finally we arrived and were given a brochure with a map and information about our campsite! Our campsite is through a long street and since this was the first time I ever drove a RV, it was a bit trickier than I expected! We made it though, all in one piece...except we lost a few bikes somewhere on the road! Yikes! Good thing they have rentals here. When we arrived to our campsite which already had a fire pit, picnic table and barbeque grill. We were then instructed to meet with the park ranger and were given a bunch of supplies. We all received a map, a fishing rod (best fishing system ever!) and a butterfly net! They are both a camp wide event that gives out prizes for various things! We quickly unpacked and unloaded all of the outdoor furniture and then met with our neighbors! By that time, the sun was setting and the older twins had accepted an invitation to go fishing at the lake. We had hoped they would bring some fish back for dinner but unfortunately, the fish that were biting were small and thrown back! Good thing I packed steak, peppers and hamburgers!! We put the grill right on top of the fire pit and cooked them to perfection, even Kenzie ate her whole burger! As soon as dinner was over, I got a text from Peaces mother saying they just arrived at the entrance to the campsite but had a little car issue.......the text read "Some jerk left bikes on the road and we have a flat - can you pick us up!?" So....I did what any guilty person would do, I shook my fist in disbelief at the carelessness of someone who would leave bikes on the road. Of course, I didn't tell her those were ours! *Snickers* Peacey and her family unpacked in our RV and we took them straight to the Ranger Station to get their butterfly nets and fishing poles. I am not sure that Jessica grasped the "How to catch butterflies" speech...she most certainly caught me though! *claps and gives her a gold star*...I just hope shes better at catching butterflies and fishes! During that fiasco of pulling out my hair to get out of the net, we have over heard the fish had been biting more now and we wanted to make sure we had enough food for the week - so we ran! As soon as we arrived, Kenzie caught her first trout!! Trout are very important at the campsite, since the park ranger has a special program for them - catch ten of them and you win a secret prize!! We fished for a long time and caught some great fish for this weeks dinner (I wont be eating any of it - shh). After a long day of fun, we brought back to our site a bucket full of fish, an old tire, someones shorts, a bunch of shells and 3 license plates!! Don't ask! Kenzie and I were the last ones up tonight and the camper was very dark so we lite up the lantern, covered ourselves up and she finally fell asleep! I guess its time for me to close my laptop and get to bed but before I do, here is a picture of a butterfly that flew its way in to say goodnight! -Mom Gilman
